I was looking for a small Dutch Oven because: 1) I have limited packing/hauling space, and need my D.O.'s to nest when going camping or to D.O.G.s (Proving that fun/comfortable camping/D.O.G.s can be done with a small car is another hobby!) 2) I don't always have many people to cook for, so I just plain needed a small D.O. 3) It's a good size for desserts, even for several people (because we need to cut back on sugar!). 4) At D.O.G.'s (Dutch Oven Gatherings) it can hold sample spoons or Business cards, etc. And there's probably several more reasons/uses that haven't occurred to me!

The lid handle design is terriable, Not much to hold on with a little wedge shape wide on bottom thin at the top wants to an will slide out of your hand using a pot holder or hot mitt , No hole in the handle lid so no using the normal Dutch oven lid hook tool

I have two little cast iron dutch ovens for small individual meals. This is the best price and the only one I could find with legs for cooking with briquettes. It also has a ridge on the lid for holding briquettes. The lid fits snug and is deep enough to hold an egg perfectly when used as a mini skillet. This is my smallest oven, but so well made I find myself using it more than the other ovens.
