    Excellent product – Difficult to cut

    The material is of excellent quality. It is, however, very difficult to cut. Best research advice on the internet about making templates in MDF and sandwiching the material in-between before drilling and cutting. This is the technique I used for the holes, but I then used a bandsaw to cut the outer shape, which worked well for me.

    Very difficult to cut and shape

    I found the product very difficult to cut and shape to the exact size and pattern needed to fit my exhaust. I used a combination of tin snips, craft knife, drill and multi tool cutter to form the gasket I needed but it took me several hours to do it. There were no instructions or advice on how to cut or use the product included with the pack and the supplier never answered their phone any time I called to ask for technical advice. Time will tell if the gasket actually forms a long term seal.

    Making your own exhaust gasket

    This material proved ideal for manufacturing a replacement exhaust gasket for a 30 cc 2 stroke petrol engine. All you need are a few hand tools and you can make up any shape of gasket that you need.
