My previous watch - probably Garmin’s first was an S1, which is still OK after 6 years, although I have had to mend the strap somewhat as it is not replaceable. The S2, which I now have has several more features, but still does the same basic measuring of distance. It is a much improved model and importantly I feel, the strap can be easily replaced and also purchased on line. I am happy with the S2, which does what it says on the tin.

The Garmin S2 is a great golf watch if you just want to know the distance to the front/center/back of the green, which is my primary objective. Comfortable to wear and easy to read. My previous watch was the Garmin S1 and that was a great tool on the golf course.
