I am aware that vacuum cleaners lose their effectiveness in time, and my old Dyson DC07 is quite a few years old. And, despite renewing critical components it was no longer cleaning well any more and seemed to be emitting dust into the air. Upon receiving my new Dyson Cinetic, I firstly vacuumed my carpets using my old Dyson DC07. Then I vacuumed them again using my new Dyson Cinetic. I was absolutely amazed how much more dust and fluff the Cinetic managed to get out of my carpets. I was even more amazed when the Cinetic went on removing more dust on several subsequent vacuumings. And the air seemed cleaner with less dust on my furniture. Then I tried it on my upholstery - again amazing! I am very pleased with its cleaning power. However, it does have a couple of problems which can only be described as design faults. Firstly, when I park the vacuum with the handle upwards, I find it difficult to know if the handle has actually locked in the upright position. Quite a few times I have left the vacuum upright to move furniture only to hear the handle come crashing to the ground - I fear that one day it will damage something. Secondly, I manoeuvre the vacuum on its ball by twisting my wrist - however, if I am a little bit too severe when manoeuvring, the wand (the red part) tends to become dislocated at the top, requiring it to be removed and then replaced. I suspect that the slots into which the wand locates are not deep enough and I am concerned that this may cause the wand or its socket to break. Overall, very pleased but care need in use. Had dysons for years as we have pets and we found they are the best, however, this vacuum is heavy and the ball steering is just a gimmick! The old style vacuum with regular casters is by far easier to push around. On the other hand this is a very powerful cleaner and has no problem at all picking up pet hair and anything else, the attachments are ok and do the job. The machine seems to be on a downward spiral as far as build quality, for the money I would expect a solid unit but this feels like it will smash and fall to pieces if you clip a corner a little over gentle, it is also very loud but I guess that comes with the suction power. Summary. It is a lot of money for a flimsy , loud , heavy , hard to steer vacuum. It is also very powerful and will do the job of cleaning well but I think that I will be roped into doing more than my share of the vacuuming as my wife really struggles with it.Read full review

Plenty of suction from the 1300 watt motor inside the DC75. We bought the DC75 to replace the old DC27 which was 7 years old and which caught fire last week (2 inch flames coming from the motor). The DC27 was the old, large, heavy type, full size vacuum cleaner. The DC75 is also large, heavy and full size but with a big ball to steer it better around obstacles. We already have the DC50 small ball which is light and easy to carry upstairs as well as the Dyson V6 cordless but sometimes you need some grunt to thoroughly clean the carpets which is were the DC75 Cinetic Big Ball comes into its own. The difference in suction between the small lightweight DC50 and the large DC75 is immerse and immediately noticeable, especially when using it to clean the carpets inside the car. My advice is... if have the muscles then go for the DC75 big ball, if you don't have the muscles then go for the lighter DC50 small ball or equivalent. The refurbished DC75 only comes with a 2 year Dyson guarantee instead of the normal 5 year Dyson guarantee but then again you are only paying a fraction of the normal price £199 vs £550.Read full review

Brilliant hover, unsure why it was refurbished but looks and feels brand new!! A little on the heavy side but the great suction and ease it moves makes up for it. I love the power boost button too! You can really feel it getting right into the carpet fibres. The fact that you don't clean the filter was the major selling point for me. I'm the type of person that will leave it and leave it, then end up thinking it's ran its course and buying a new product. The only thing I have struggled with is putting the extendable tube back on to the unit, you have to line it up it an exact spot for the tube to sit correct and the red clip to go back over it. But I think this is more down to having used a floor ball for the past 5 years, getting used to the upright style again and it's getting easier each time. All in all I'm loving my new Dyson. I've never brought a refurbished product before and I was weary about it looking used and being a bit bashed. But i couldn't even see that it had been used before. Definitely worth investing in refurbished and getting it at a steel price rather than paying another couple of hundred for brand new. The only thing I would want different is for it to have come with every tool Dyson does. It comes with most and obviously the animal as it's the animal range but the under the sofa one that comes with another older model would have been brilliant! But I'm sure that they will bring out the different ranges of non filter cleaning ones. And of course a lighter model. But as I said the weight isn't much different to the other models (belive me I tried them all in curries) and a slightly heavier model far outweighs the fact that you have to clean the filter, great suction and a great tube length. I bought the Dyson DC75 Cinetic Big Ball Animal Upright - (Dyson Refurbished), to replace my ancient 14 year old DC04 Zorbster vacuum when its motor burnt out. The machine was delivered the next day via courier and, on opening the box, it looked absolutely brand new rather than refurbished! It came with a handbook and has a two year Dyson parts and labour guarantee. Pros: 1. After assembly, relatively simple with the included good instructions, I tried it out on our lounge carpet that had been cleaned the previous day just before the old machine broke down. WOW !!! I was staggered by how much more fluff and dust the DC75 sucked out - it filled the dust canister up to the max line! 2. The suction is excellent and it's a great super-cleaning monster machine. 3. It's also way quieter than our old machine. 4. It comes with only two tools but, using a small adapter (which I already had), the old tools can also be used. 5. It's very easy to empty the dust canister. Cons: I have only two points of criticism: 1. It's a big, heavy machine, ok if you're strong but not so good if you're a bit on the weak side; 2. It's not as manoeuvrable as the DC04 and vacuuming with the ball takes some getting used to. However, I'm sure that I'll get used to handling it with more practice. Overall, it's a vast improvement on the earlier model and great value compared to its brand new price. Can I recommend it? Absolutely yes! Read full review
