Using this on a home built CNC. Works great! Would be nice if it was a variable speed but for around $50, what more can i ask for. From my use on my CNC, I track the hours it runs and I can tell you that it will run a constant 80+ hours before the bearings start to go. I purchased replacement bearings and change them at the 50 to 60 hour mark. Would be helpful if the factory made the replacement bearings holders where you could press new bearings in, but the bearing is molded into the plastic holder. So you have to order the holder which takes 12 days to get from the factory because it is not readily available from any online store. I order mine thru eReplacement parts, which cost around $12.00 and takes 6-12 days to ship.

This tool comes as battery operated also but there are tools that I believe need to be corded. That is why I bought the corded model. Very powerful motor and Dewalt quality can't be beat no matter how much more you pay. I love Dewalt tools and have had nothing but great experiences with them. I used to own a Rotozip and felt that it lacked the power to do the things that I needed it to do. This Dewalt DW660 is a beast. It beats the Rotozip hands down. It is a professional grade tool that can be used by contractors and hobbiests. I plan on using it to work on my boat when I need to cut through the thick wood/fiberglas/gelcoat. I know that my Rotozip would not be able to handle this type of work. It uses the same collets and many of the Rotozip and Dremmel accessories. It does not have a variable speed motor but I have a pedal operated variable speed controller that I can attach it to and make it variable speed. I can't say enough good things about this tool. Contractors use it for cutting out boxes and other holes needed in sheetrock. I think that sheetrock work is way underestimating what this tool can do. I would recommend it to anyone hands down.Read full review

What a beast! I have seen reviews that say "not enough power" FOR WHAT? I'm using a 1/4" shank 1/2" rotary rasp for wood and can't slow it down. Very well built (like all the DeWalt line). I do find it a bit awkward due to the size, but I knew it wasn't a Dremel. The bit removal will get some getting used to (may just use a wrench instead of the buttons). A small annoying thing is that I like to look over the side of the tool when cutting, but the air vents blow the debris right into my face, it would be nice if the vents were cut at a forward angle to blow the dust toward the work. All in all this tool is great and deserves all 5 stars.

If you need a drywall cutter, DeWalt makes good stuff you can depend on. I an very happy to add this tool into my kit! It can cut plywood, tile, and even thin metal! A great tool for the price.

Excellent rotory tool, I use it much more frequently than my air tools. It's more powerful and has the added benefit of both the 1/4" and 1/8" collets. Shop around and find a bargain... I did!
