As well as playing 4K Ultra HD Blu-rays and supporting High Dynamic Range (HDR), it also upscales regular pictures to breathtakingly detailed 4K UHD resolution. Plus it features Dolby Atmos surround sound for equally amazing audio, and offers a host of smart features, with built-in Wi-Fi. Able to play a wide range of discs and audio or video files, with a full suite of wired connections, it's kitted out to become your complete home entertainment hub, with outstanding audio and visual quality.
4K HDR and 4K Upscaling
With a compatible TV, enjoy the stunning depth and realism of the 4K HDR picture. Boosting colour and contrast for a more realistic picture, this player supports HDR10 (with Dolby Vision HDR available via firmware upgrade from July 2018). And if you don't have an HDR TV, Sony's HDR-SDR conversion tech intelligently scales HDR’s ultra-wide brightness range into an SDR image for improved picture quality. Meanwhile, BT.2020 colour spaces offers a wider colour range than standard players, so all the hues in nature can be authentically reproduced. With 4K 60p upscaling, you’ll experience your favourite movies in four-times the detail of Full HD. This player will upscale your DVDs and Blu-rays so all your media gets the titillating 4K treatment.
Dolby Sound
Dolby Atmos treats sound sources within a three dimensional space, so whatever you're watching or listening to, with compatible speakers, the audio will be remarkably immersive and spatially separated.
Smart Platform
With Sony's smart platform, access a variety of 4K streaming services from such services as Amazon Video, Netflix and YouTube via your wireless network.*
Versatile Formats
As well as Ultra HD Blu-Ray, regular Blu-Rays and DVDs, the UBP-X700 can handle a wide range of disc formats, including CDs and Super-Audio CDs. It's the same with digital files too; this player supports all popular audio and video file formats.

With multiple high quality connections it's armed to become your central home entertainment hub, linking a wide range of home AV equipment.
This player will support playback of discs purchased in the same region (Region 2 for DVD, Region B for Blu-ray) unless otherwise specified in the player documentation.
